I forget things. All of the time. Every time. It drives Carly J up the freakin' wall. So I thought it was high time I got something that I could put in plain view that would remind me about particularly important things. Problem is, most of the ones I see in shops are super ugly and a simple post-it is a wee bit boring. So I came up with this:
You'll need: An old picture frame, primer, pretty paper or fabric to put in the frame, paint, a fine paint brush and a white board marker (dry erase).
1. First things first, pull the frame apart. Some will be trickier than others, but hopefully you'll have one similar to this with a couple of latches to flip then hey presto! Also give the glass a wipe down and remove any stickers.
2. Next up grab your primer and give the frame a rough once-over. It needn't be perfect as we'll tidy it all up in a sec.
3. The grab a fine brush and give it a lovely perfect coat of primer, as smooth as possible.
4. By this point the primer should be opaque with not bits of wood visible. If not, give it one more layer. Once it's dry grab your brush again and paint on the pretty colour you've picked. If it's a light colour it may only need one coat, but give it as many coats as you need to completely cover the primer and create an even texture.
6. Now grab the backing to your frame and trace the shape and size onto the paper or fabric you'll be using.
7. Lastly, pop it all back together and hey presto, it's done!
Now you just need to put it somewhere perfect - I like to stand it up on my desk so it's constantly in view, just to make sure I don't forget anything!
