LOOK WHAT I DID!

Fo realz.

My first attempt at embroidery and I think it turned out pretty darn well, if I don't say so myself.

Step back a couple of posts to see the lovely Aofie in the furr. She's a darling little lass, my only beef with Beefy is that I genuinely believe that my girlfriend loves her more than she loves me. But, y'know, she loves to kneed my clothes when left of the floor or the bed and that makes me all gooey inside, so I can make my peace with it all.

How did I do it?

Well, I took a photo of her fluffy little face, pumped it into PhotoShop and used the cutout filter to break the colours down into 8 steps - I'm sure there are better ways to do this but it worked for me.

I then split each colour into separate layers, traced the outline of her face onto linen then shaded the darkest colour, embroidered it, shaded the next colour, embroidered it, and continued until they were all done.

Then I freehand stitched her lovely little name.

Tjana lost her proverbial shiznit. Which was nice.

Meet Beefy (Aofie)

Almost exactly three months ago someone very special came imto my life. She's kind, loving, positively drop deal gorgeous and an absolute cuddle monster. She is my beautiful girlfriends beautiful Russian Blue, Aofie (also affectionately known as Beefy/Beefcake/Meeeemeeee).

Srsly though, isn't she a totally betty?



I took these photos of Beefy this past weekend when Tjana was off doing her work thang and the sun shining in through her bedroom window was particularly perfect. Little Beefcake is certainly no stranger to the odd photoshoot, lady certainly knows how to work her angles.



I managed to snap a handful of super adorable shots of Beefy and her mumma, my lady Tjana, later in the evening, no doubt I'll share thoe with you shortly as well.

10 Things That You Should Know About Pilot.

After this little post about my beloved bunny Danger I thought it might be nice to share with you all the somewhat unique idiosyncrasies of Miss Cate's canine BFF, Pilot.

He's a particularly beautiful Kelpie X Dingo. Yep, dingo. Do a quick google image search of this breed and you'll find that he's the handsomest, by a lot. And no we're not biased.

He was supposed to be a farm dog. Miss Cate's Aunt and Uncle originally picked up the puppy to help herd sheep and the like, sadly he was not up to the task, much prefering to lay in the shade and snap at butterflies.

He's the worlds biggest sook. I mean really, look at that face. He just plain won't rest unless being stroked but the hand or foot of a human, doesn't really matter who or how much, just that it is happening.

He spoons. As in, the big spoon. Or the little spoon, really. In bed. All the time.

He's a sulker. Such a sulker. If he's outdoors and can see humans indoors he just sit and stare a whine until he's let inside and provided with compensation in the form of cuddles and belly rubbs.

He's a bit weird about bones. He loves them, but not in front of you. As in, he'll sit by a bone, pretending not to notice its existance until you are out of view, then he'll go to town on that bad boy.

He likes to sit close to the heater. So close, in fact, that he won't notice that his pretty white fur is burning until it's too late.

He's not fussed by the existance of other dogs. In fact he'll just plain ignore them if there's a human around whom might potentially offer cuddles and/or snacks.

He's friends with Dolly Parton. Little Dolly is the resident runt kitty who draws great pleasure from trying to catch Pilots wagging tail, that is when she's not trying to catch her own.

He will never die. Or at least that's what his mummy, Miss Cate, will tell you, and for the moment at least I'm sticking to that theory because I cannot imagine a world without this delightful puppy dog in it.

Puppies + Sun + Park = Fun

Last Sunday the sun was shining, the puppies were restless, and I really felt like corn fritters. So I rounded up Miss Cate and my housemates puppies (Honey, Hary & Ruby), chucked them in the car and headed to the markets. Gosh it was lovely!

It gets better though, when we got there we met our awesome baker friend, Mac, who brought along Le's little puppies (Oscar & Sheba)!

So there we sat, full of organic treats and significantly outnumbered by tiny dogs, basking in the Autumn sun.

Photographing pets is just so much fun!
