Words cannot describe the thrill I felt when I found these beauties at a second hand furniture co-op in Marrickville. For only One.Dollar.Each. Hooray!
The three books pretty much run through the how to's of the most common crafts, crochet, embroidery, knitting, etc, as well as listing the different fabric types and their uses, tonnes of patterns and illustrations, colours and inspiration. Whenever I'm feeling a little creatively stunted I devour one of these babies.

I know I shared these books a little while ago when I first bought them, but I'm really not thrilled with the images from that post, so here they are again, in all their glory!
I love that both of these books feature embroidery patterns of all different styles, from Hungarian crewel to your stick standard cross stitch. And the colours and designs are just gorgeous. Seriously, check out the cushion below:
I always love seeing the people photographs in these types of books, Seriously, how unimpressed and awkward does this little girl look! Cute little outfit though...
The tree on the right is definitely my fave.

I have a little bit of a fetish for retro craft books. They're just so freakin awesome. The colours, the patterns, the designs... they just have a little something that todays craft and DIY books are missing.
Knitting for Fun by Diana Biggs is just chocka block full of bright colourful designs and projects, and I've definitely got plans to attack the blanket on the front cover at some point. Isn't it just fabulous?? Not to mention this brilliant beannie/beret, and of course the cute little stuffed toys!
