MCA Zine Fair Pt.1

Yesterday was the funnest day. Srsly, the funnest. We started off with an early morning out at Sydney Olympic Park for the annual RSPCA Million Paws walk, holy lawd do I have some adorable puppy photos to share with you later this week!

Then in the afternoon we headed over to the MCA for the annual Zine Fair! I went along a couple ofyears ago and just remember being completely over stimulated by the incredible load of talent in the room.

This year sadly, I was slightly more overwhelmed by the number of people crammed into such a small space, there really is nothing more irritating than wanting to check out a zine no more than a metre to your right but not being able to reach it because there are just too many people in the way! Hello claustrophopia and minor panic attacks. Bah! The photos below are of the more spacious side of the room.

Still, I got to see most of it and managed to see most of it a picked up some really brilliant pieces.

I bought a whole munch of little bits and pieces, can't wait to share them with you in a follow up post tomorrow!

Market Sunday!

Yesterday was Sunday, which if course means Market Day in our house! So we hooked up with our fab pal Alanna and headed out to both the Addison Rd (Marrickville) Markets and then all the way over East to the Bondi Markets. Funzies!

On the walk over to Addison Rd Carly made a new kitty-type friend - he was super thrilled by her hug - not. The embrace was brief, and ended shortly after this shot.

After shopping ourselves silly we grabbed some luinch and headed down to the grass at Bondi for a relax in the sun.

This particular shot is a preview for a DIY to come in the next couple of days... can you guess what? Not handstands - swears.

Addison Rd Markets

On Saturday, I had a crap day. Firstly, I got up way early to head to the Rozelle Markets in expectation of a fabulous thrifting adventure - fail. I found NOTHING! Then on the bus on the way home my driver was all swervy then ran up the back of a car on the Pyrmont Bridge. Fail again!

But it's okay. Because on Sunday Carly J and I went to the Addison Rd Markets. So. Much. Fun. The Addison Rd Markets in Marrickville are pretty much my favourite place to me in the whole world of a Sunday morning. There's mountains of delicious organic food, a bunch of fantastic handmade crafty stalls, and a few second hand clothing/decor stalls - all fantastic! Not to mention the billions of puppies sniffing around while their respective owners sniff out a deal/delicious pie.

Market Day

So amidst all the crazy surprises and fun play times today I did manage to get to a couple of markets. First up: The Rose St Artists Market.

The Markets are relatively small, but boy were there some damn fine goods! I grabbed a couple of cards - one for Mum (it is Mothers Day tomorrow after all!) and a cute puppy dog one for Carly (See, at this point she hadn't turned up yet!) from Able & Game.

Next up: The Fitzroy Markets. These Markets are mostly second hand (first Sat of each month) - people attempting to offload their out of date wardrobe to hopeful punters. So. Freakin. Great.
